In addition to living in Roseville, I also work at Presbyterian Homes & Services in Roseville and at the
start of the pandemic, as stress was high in older adults services, I decided to give up my car and commit
to bicycle commuting to work. This practice became meaningful to me in so many ways. This is when I
realized a whole new set of benefits of living in Roseville, like the glory that is reservoir woods, and the
plowed sidewalks, and how many places our family can bike to quite comfortably. Of course, it also gives
me first-hand knowledge of some simple improvements that would help convert some of our roads that
are only safe for automobile traffic to be more accommodating to those moving about our city outside
of an automobile.
Ultimately, I want to serve on a commission to learn more about our city, to give back to this
community, and to invest in the place where we have chosen to raise our children. I am particularly
interested in issues of "human habitat," which I find most real in terms of our environment,
transportation systems and our parks. I find myself listening to city planning podcasts and would be
honored to serve as a researcher, observer and feedback gatherer as the city council and staff work to
invest limited resources to make Roseville the best it can be.

Please describe any activities, specific skills or experiences you have that you feel would be beneficial to
serving on the advisory commission(s) for which you are applying.
In my professional life, I serve as Vice President of Communication and Marketing Systems at
Presbyterian Homes & Services, based in Roseville. I am responsible for such things as internal
communications, external communications and media relations, and I also develop tools and systems for
data analysis, meeting management, process improvement and feedback gathering. I find these skills are
needed in every organization and planning process.
I have also been a member of several non-profit boards and I have served as board chair twice, among
other leadership roles. I am passionate about how effective volunteer leaders can contribute to effective
organizations.

As a commissioner on your preferred commission(s), how could you contribute to the City's equity and
inclusion initiatives?
I would like to learn more about the city's equity and inclusion initiatives and how I can support all
members of our community. As someone who has a Master's Degree from Harvard Divinity School in
Religion, Ethics and Politics, I have spent a fair amount of time assessing my own privilege and systems
of personal and institutional bias. More importantly, I believe in the god-given worth of each individual
and the power of human interaction and shared values to bring down the barriers that often divide us.
Preferred method to be contacted
Email
Please provide alternative phone number or email if different from above
