The Council met on the above date vdth the following members present& Ca.rlson, Olson, Salverda, Willmus and Hamr'lersten. Hilner Carley, Village Engineer, and B. H. Loftsgaarden, VillaGe Attorney, were also present. Carlson moved, Olson seconded that the minutes of the August 10th meet- ing be approved as presented the Council by mail. Roll Call Ayes (5)- Hayes (0). The Clerk read a letter from the 5th Addition. Hammersten moved, to 1'11'. Carley for further study. Plat Comrdssion on the C. :.. IÜchael, Carlson seconded the plat be referred Roll Call Ayes (S)-Nayes (0). The Clerk read a letter and a resolution from the Hi¿;h\.¡av Dept, in reference to building culverts on Snel~ing Ave. (Hgwy 51) near T.H.36. Olson moved, Carlson seconded to adopt the resolution of the Ei¡:.;h\vay Dept. Roll Call Ayes (5)--Nayes (0). The Clerk read this resolution: WHEPK·.S, on June 8, 1954 the Village of Roseville adopted a n.otion that the qu.œstion of establishing an on-sale liquor store be sub- rnitted to a vote of the people at a primary election and, ~{IillREAS, there is no provision in the state læ: for the submission of the same to a vote of the people, and ~~ŒF~~S, the Attorney General has ruled that the Villaze does not even have authority to incur expenses for such a vote. l.Jm¡ TlIEP..EFORE, the Village of Roseville hereby resolves that the action taken b~r the Village on June 8th to submit the matter to a vote of the people at a primar:r election is hereby rescinded. H2nmersten moved ;:,he àdoption of tlle resolution, seconded by \<Jillmus. Roll Call Ayes (5)-Nayes (0). A letter was read from the Stubers of the Waten,orks I~. They asked the Village Council to supervise and do the work o~ installing the Hater line connecting them to the St. Paul Hater System. Hamr::ersten moved, Olson seconded the matter be refe~red to the Villace Engineer and the Village Attorney. Roll Call Ayes (5)-Naycs (0). A discussion Has held in reference to the Sherren St. turnaround, .'1'. Carley said he ¡.¡-auld like to look into the matter' further.
