REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: December 5, 2022 <br />Item No.: 10.f <br />Department ApprovalCity Manager Approval <br />Item Description:ApproveAddendum to Ramsey CountyMutual Aid Agreement <br />1 <br />2 B ACKGROUND <br />th <br />3 On July 25, Roseville City Council approved the 2023-2029 Ramsey County Law Enforcement <br />4 Consortium Mutual Aid Agreement (Attachment A). <br />5 <br />th <br />6 On November 15, the Roseville Police Department received notification an additional section (XVII <br />7 Counterparts) was added to the end of the agreement. Based on the makeup of theagreement and the <br />8 status as a consortium with multiple agencies, the typical procedure of obtaining all signatures prior to <br />9 passing it along to the next agency for signatures was not possible. The added section allows for the <br />10 agreement to be executed in several counterparts. <br />11 <br />12 The city attorney has reviewed the attached mutual aid agreementwith addendum(Attachment B). <br />13 <br />14 P OLICY O BJECTIVE <br />15 The Roseville Police Department seeks toaccept the updated mutual aid agreement, continuing a long- <br />16 standing partnershipwith Ramsey County agencies to effectivelyhandle large scale emergencies, <br />17 ensuringRoseville is prepared to adequately address fire, flood, natural disaster, civil disturbance, or <br />18 any other emergency in Ramsey County. <br />19 <br />20 F INANCIAL I MPACTS <br />21 There are nofinancial implications. <br />22 <br />23 S TAFF R ECOMMENDATION <br />24 Staff recommends Council approval to accepttheupdated mutual aid agreementand authorize the <br />25 signing of the Agreement by the City of Roseville Attorney, City of Roseville Mayor, City of Roseville <br />26 Finance Directorand City of Roseville Chief of Police. <br />27 <br />28 R EQUESTED C OUNCIL A CTION <br />29 The Roseville Police Department seeksCouncil approval to accept the updated mutual aid agreement <br />30 and authorize the signing of the Agreement by the City of Roseville Attorney, City of Roseville Mayor, <br />31 City of Roseville Finance Director and City of Roseville Chief of Police. <br />32 <br />33 Prepared by:Chief Erika Scheider <br />AttachmentA:2022 Mutual Aid Agreement RCA approved 7/25/2022 <br />AttachmentB:Ramsey County Mutual Aid Agreement with Addendum <br />Page 1of 1 <br /> <br />
