Resources for Measuring Outcomes <br />The Step 4/5 Metrics Dashboard provides data visualization for Step 4 & 5 reporting <br />communities that can easily be shared with community leaders and residents. <br />The Center for Small Towns at the University of Minnesota - Morris has faculty and <br />students who partner with small cities on data collection and other forms of support on <br />specific issues identified by the city. <br />Heather Krause. Webinar recording of "How Not to Use Data Like a Racist." This webinar <br />(complete with provocative title), has useful insights into unintentional biases that may <br />occur with data collection and evaluation <br />Alexis Goggans of Be -Bold Services prepared a set of possible equity -related indicators <br />as part of her Equlty in Action Toolkit. <br />Public Management Review compares sustainability reporting frameworks used by <br />European cities and countries in "Sustainability Reporting Local Governments: A Magic <br />Tool? Lessons on Use and Usefulness from European Pioneers." <br />The American Planning Association provides a guide for local government that defines <br />sustainability, as well as how to implement, measure, and report it called "Assessing <br />Sustainability: A Guide for Local Governments." <br />The Government Alliance on Race and Equity (CARE) is a national network of <br />governments working to achieve racial equity and advance opportunities for all. GARE <br />provides a "Racial Equ yToo lkit, An Opportunity to Operafonalize Equ _' with guidance <br />to set equity goals and measure outcomes. <br />Use of online maps that incorporate and visualize metrics can be a more engaging <br />reporting mechanism. This student used Geographic Information System (GIS) maps to <br />visualize environmental justice in the Twin Cities. <br />Review good practices for incorporating equity in a city sustainability plan including <br />metrics on progress in reduction of disparities in "Equlty in Sustainability, An E%Ljt Scan <br />of Local Government Sustainability Programs." Practices are provided by the Urban <br />Sustainability Directors Network, a peer -to -peer organization of local government <br />professionals. <br />Additional resources are available on the Minnesota GreenStep website <br />17 <br />
