Regular City Council Meeting Monday,January 9, 2023 Page 12 Councilmember Groff thought the wording in the last bullet point reflects what the Council was thinking. He thought "Increasing fees to local Deputy Registrars" should be higher up, but it is in the priorities. Mr. Trudgeon noted Metro Cities and the group of Registrars are working on this so this would not be a City led initiative. Councilmember Groff thought it might be nice to have a letter from the City re- garding this. Mayor Roe noted on the item Ramsey County request for the Youth Violence Re- sponse,he was at a meeting where one of the topics discussed was the gap in dealing with youth violent offenders. He explained the group is trying to get support and funding for a more residential middle option between not doing anything and in- carceration for the young offenders. He thought it made sense to be in support of this,noting it could be added as an item on the Other Priorities list because the City is not taking a lead on this. He did not know if the City needed to put their voice in on this but might be helpful with the Legislature. Councilmember Groff thought this sounded like an excellent program and might fill a gap. Councilmember Schroeder indicated she would support adding this to the list be- cause she did think the City needed to have another alternative and it made sense that this should be added. There was no objection to the Council in adding the "Ramsey County Youth Vio- lence Response"proposal. Public Comment Mayor Roe offered an opportunity for public comment with no one coming for- ward. Schroeder moved, Etten seconded, adoption of the City of Roseville 2023 Legisla- tive Priorities adding the "Ramsey County Youth Violence Response"proposal to other priorities.
