<br />VILLAGE OF ROSEVILLE <br />Continued meeting of the Village Council Monday April 25, 1955 8 p.ln. <br /> <br />The Villaee Council met on the above date with the following members <br />present: C> Carlson, Salvei'da, Olson, Willmus and Hammersten. B. H. <br />Loftsgaarden: Attorney, 'BBÆÌ also present. <br /> <br />Hr. Lauritzen of 1265 CO!:lO Blvd. asked permission to erect a temporary <br />portable building on the N. W. corner of the parking lot at the Snelling <br />Hub, Snelling and Co. Rd. B, for the purpose of selling plants. Hammersten <br />moved, Carlson seconded that pe'emission be granted for a temporary bldg. <br />for a period of 60 days. (Texaco) subrnitted a sketch of a service station they want <br />to erect on the S E corner of Snelling & Co. Rd. C2. Carlson moved, serve stat. <br />Hæænersten seconded the Texas Co. Be granted pelmission to erect a Texaco Snelling C2 <br />Service Station of the SE corner of Snelling & C2. Roll Call Ayes (5)-NayesO <br /> <br />Walter Stepnitz introduced two men who are interested in developing a <br />commercial site in Roseville. Mr. Douglas Rees, a co~~ercial developer, <br />is interested in develpping the S. E. corner of Snelling & TH36. Hr. <br />Ingham, stated that the State Farm Mutual Ins. Co. wants to build around <br />this same site for an office building. 'fhey wanted to know how the Council <br />felt about rushing to get svwer connections in this locality. The Council <br />assured them they would do all in their power to get sewers in this local- <br />ity. Mr. John Daubney suggested the Village Council write a letter to the <br />Commissioner of Public Works and the City Council of St. Paul stating <br />Roseville expects to pay their share of the sewer hook-up and they do not <br />want something for nothing. <br /> <br />Hr. Frederick, salesman for the Malsbury Generator, explained the advan- <br />tages of this machine for heating oil. <br /> <br />Bob Sander, from Jltån & Moody, investment bankers, explained the methods <br />of financing a project like the sewers in Roseville. <br /> <br />The Clerk read a letter which is to be sent to the St. Paul Water Dept. <br />requesting them to extend the water main on Alameda to accommodate Lots <br />3 and 4, Block 2 Oak Valley Addition. <br /> <br />Hammersten moved, Wil1mus seconded that Geo. Membrez be appointed <br />secretary of the Planning Commission. Roll Ca, Ayes (5)_Nayes (0). <br /> <br />The Engineer reported to the Council on the tabulation of the bids that <br />had been referreEl to him. <br />Two.bids were subndtted for gasoline. The Port Oil Co. bid a total fixed <br />unit price of $o.ll.¡.L. The Nelson Oil Co. bid on a fixed unit price of <br />$0.1046.5. The Nelson Oil Co. JIIIIIZ was the low .Uaii",,'bidder and Hammersten <br />moved, Carlson seconded Whe contract be awarded to the Nelson Oil Co. of <br />St. Paul. Roll Call Ayes (5)-Nayes (0). <br /> <br />Only one bid was received for Diesel fuel, that was Port Oil Co. of Newport. <br />Their total price was $0.123 per gallon. Olson moved, Willmus seconded <br />That the contract be awarded to Port Oil Co.
