Roseville Public Works, Environment and Transportation Commission <br />Agenda Item <br />DATE: March 28, 2023 ITEM: 7.a. <br />ITEM DESCRIPTION: 2023 Eureka Recycling Annual Update <br />Background <br />Eureka Recycling has recently produced the annual recycling report. Staff from Eureka will be <br />on hand at the meeting to review the highlights of the report and future recycling efforts. <br />The Draft 2023 Annual Report is included in the PWETC packet. The recycling contract <br />requires the report to be reviewed by this commission per the following language: <br />3.4 Annual Performance Review Meeting to Discuss Recommendations for Continuous <br />Improvement <br />Upon receipt of the Contractor's annual report, the City shall schedule a meeting with the <br />Contractor and the City's Public Works Environment and Transportation Committee. <br />The objectives of this meeting will include (but will not be limited to): <br />. Review Contractor's annual report, including trends in recovery rate and participation. <br />. Review efforts the Contractor has made to expand recyclable markets. <br />. Review Contractor's performance based on feedback from residents to the Committee <br />members and/or City staff. <br />. Review Contractor's recommendations for improvement in the City's recycling program, <br />including enhanced public education and other opportunities. <br />. Review staff and Committee recommendations for improving Contractor's service. <br />. Discuss other opportunities for improvement with the remaining years under the current <br />Contract. <br />. Discuss actions Contractor is taking to reduce its carbon footprint. <br />. Discuss low performing areas and Contractor's outreach efforts. <br />. Compliance with City's DEI initiatives. <br />Recommendation <br />Discuss recycling program with Eureka staff. <br />Attachments <br />1. Draft Annual Report <br />Page 49 of 67 <br />
