Commissioner Baggenstoss added that there have been many Park Dedication proposals that the <br />parcels would have made great parkland acquisitions. <br /> <br />Chair Dahlstrom suggested adding the new goal “Explore more ways and opportunities to <br />acquire parkland” under goal header “2. Equity and Engagement”. <br /> <br />Commissioner Boulton asked how the city finds out about parcels that are for sale. Staff <br />confirmed that the city learns about available parcels when they are listed. <br />Commissioner Beckman requested her name be added to Goal 1.b and the new goal of acquiring <br />parkland. Commissioners Arneson and Brown also requested their name be added to the new <br />goal of acquiring parkland. <br />5) STAFF REPORT <br />a) DEPARTMENTAL UPDATES <br />i. Discover your Parks 2023 <br />The Discover Your Park (DYP) signup sheet is now available on-line. You can find the dates <br />and times for this year’s DYP events and signup here: <br />https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60B0B4DAFAA2BA5FE3-discover1 <br />This year the Parks and Recreation Commission will have an activity available to help <br />facilitate engagement with DYP participants. <br />b) Other New or Relevant Communication and Update Items <br /> 230 participants skated in 3 ice shows at the Roseville Skating Center. Over 1,500 tickets <br />were sold to the event. <br /> The Roseville School of Dance recital took place with many volunteers helping to make the <br />recitals possible. <br /> Kite Day in the Park was on Saturday, April 22 (10 a.m.-12 p.m.) at Rosebrook Park. Over <br />50 kids participated in the event. <br /> Earth Day at the Harriet Alexander Nature Center was on April 22 (10 a.m.-2 p.m.). This was <br />a very well attended event, inspite of the weather. <br />Summer activities are starting to begin: <br />o Over 200 participants in golf leagues <br />o Adult sand volleyball <br />o Daytime and evening adult softball <br />The Muriel Sahlin Arboretum pathway project is nearing completion. This project was paid <br />for by the Central Park Foundation. <br /> Arbor Month Tree Planting volunteer event on Saturday, May 6, 2023. <br /> Flower planting along Lexington in Central Park on Saturday, May 20, 2023. <br /> The citywide garage sale will be June 1, 2023-June 3, 2023. The 2023 map will be available <br />beginning May 27 at City Hall & on the city website. <br />Tree Trust is partnering with the City of Roseville to provide 300 trees to Roseville property <br />owners.
