Sustainability Update: <br />• Staff and elected officials traveled to the LMC annual conference in Duluth on <br />June 22 to receive the Sustainable City award. <br />• Staff attended the Ramsey -Washington Metro Watershed District Waterfest event on <br />June 3 with sustainability/water trivia and free LED light bulb giveaways. <br />• Staff attended the Donate Good Stuff Eco Fair on June 17, leading a Climate Ribbon <br />interactive activity and providing information and outreach about Roseville's <br />sustainability work. <br />• Staff is working with Ramsey County to organize an electric vehicle "ride and drive" <br />event on July 13 for City and County staff to explore fleet electrification options. <br />• Staff worked with volunteers to make Roseville's Juneteenth event on June 17 zero <br />waste, providing compostable materials for food vendors and managing <br />compost/organic drop sites throughout the event. <br />• Connected with other Minnesota city sustainability staff to research zero waste/takeout <br />container ordinances in Minneapolis, St. Paul, Edina, and St. Louis Park to present at <br />upcoming City Council meeting on July 10. <br />• Staff continues to work with the MPCA on Gold Leaf program actions, and with the <br />Great Plains Institute on EV Smart Community certification. <br />Major Maintenance Activities: <br />• Street and Storm <br />o Second sweep of the season was completed June 22, 2023. <br />o Message pavement painting has started. <br />o Concrete repairs at 10 water break areas completed. <br />o Ongoing street and pathway asphalt patching. <br />o Ongoing Compost site maintenance. Friday deliveries continuing. <br />o Second weeding of streetscape areas complete. <br />o Assisting Park and Recreation with Rosefest prep. <br />o Ongoing storm sewer maintenance, sign work, and asphalt patching for streets <br />and pathways. <br />Water and Sanitary Sewer <br />o Water Tower painting and repairs are complete and tower is back in service. <br />o Four watermain break repairs for June thus far. <br />o Repaired two hydrants for June thus far. <br />o Replaced valve on Fairview Avenue that feeds Rosedale Commons. <br />o Roseville City Hall and Public Works roof repairs completed. <br />o Job posting is out for Utilities Worker IL Help us recruit! <br />o Continued jetting, underground locates, weekly lift station inspections, <br />collection of water samples, and replacing water meters and MIUs. <br />• Page 3 <br />Page 9 of 125 <br />
