REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br /> Date: June 20, 2023 <br /> Item No.: 7.a <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br /> <br />Item Description: Hold a Public Hearing to Consider Approving a Liquor License for Tio’s Food and <br />Beverage located at 2323 Hamline Ave N <br />BACKGROUND 1 <br />Under City Code, a public hearing is required to consider approving liquor licenses for the current calendar 2 <br />year. The City has received applications for the following: 3 <br /> 4 <br /> Tio’s Food and Beverage – On-Sale Liquor License w/ Sunday Sales 5 <br /> Tio’s Food and Beverage – Outdoor Endorsement 6 <br /> 7 <br /> 8 <br />POLICY OBJECTIVE 9 <br />Required by City Code. The regulation of establishments that sell alcoholic beverages has been a long-10 <br />standing practice by the State and the City. 11 <br />BUDGET IMPLICATIONS 12 <br />The correct fees were paid to the City at the time the application was made, the remaining balance will be 13 <br />due prior to issuance of the license. 14 <br />RACIAL EQUITY IMPACT SUMMARY 15 <br />There is no anticipated racial equity impact by approving this liquor license. 16 <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION 17 <br />The applicant meets all requirements set forth under City Code.
