<br />VILLAGE OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />Regular meeting of the Village Council met Tuesd~ Nov. 1, 1955 at <br />2 P.N.. <br /> <br />The Village Council met on the above date with the following members <br />present: Carlson, Salverda, Olson, and Hammersten. B. H. Loftsgaarden, <br />attorney and Don Carley, enginser were also present. Wil1mus absent. <br /> <br />Carlson moved, Salverda seconded the minutes of the previous meetings be <br />approved as presented. Roll call. Ayes(4)-Nayes(O). <br /> <br />Hammersten moved, Olson seconded the bids on the truck be opened. <br />Roll Call. Ayes(4)-N~es(0). The bids were as follows: <br />H. C. Ormes Co. 12,261.00 <br />East Side Motor 9,450.00 <br />F. W. D. 11,381.15 <br />Olson moved, Hammersten seconded the bids be referred to the engineer <br />for tabulation and report. ~oll call. Ayes(4)-N~es(0). <br /> <br />A.s the rezoning of the S. W. corner of Dellwood and TH36 was not <br />considered valid, the matter was up for discussion again. Vince <br />Courtney, representing residents opposed to the rezoning from <br />farm residential to business the S.W. corner of Dellwood & TH36, <br />submitted a petition signed by more than 70 residents opposing <br />the rezoning. They stated they would not be opposed if they could <br />be assured that only an office building or a build ng for professional <br />people was going to be ereete~ Attorney Loftsgaarden stated there was no <br />provision in the zoning ordinance classifying arsning in such a way. <br /> <br />Worth Ochs, petitioner for the rezoning, stated again that they could be <br />assured that only ant office building would be erected & that ~ has the <br />Village interest in mind and would not put up something that Woí(ld be <br />a detriment to it. <br /> <br />Wesley Chandler, speaking as a member of a board of the church at <br />Hamline & TH36 stated the church has absolutely no objedtions to <br />the rezoning of this property. Speaking as the adjoining property owner <br />to the west, he has no objections to the rezoning. <br /> <br />'-- <br /> <br />Ted Schultz, a member of the school board¡ said the school board has no <br />objections to the rezoning but repeated the feelings of the board as <br />stated in a letter to the Council that the school operates on a Closed <br />School Day set up so a developer with the idea of using the trade <br />of the students to operate should be informed:they are not opposed <br />to an office building. <br /> <br />Mr. Brandt of 9'2l1I1 Flerrill stated he felt the residents would not be <br />so opposed if they knew for sure an office building was going to be <br />erected. <br /> <br />Salverda moved, Hammersten seconded, this SW corner of DelJMood & TH36 <br />be rezoned from Fa~ hesidential to Business. Roll Call. Ayes (2)-Nayes <br />(2) Motion lost.
