At the discretion of the Community Development Department, a simplified Tree Preservation <br />3824 Plan may be submitted when trees do not exist on the site or when no activity is planned within <br />3825 the typical root protection zone of existing trees. Simplified plans, when pre -approved for <br />3826 submittal, shall include the following information: <br />3827 a. Location of trees (both on and adjacent to the property) showing required protection zones. <br />3828 i. At a minimum, plans must identify the typical root protection zones for each tree which <br />3829 forms the boundary of vegetation being protected during the proposed activity. <br />3830 ii. At the discretion of the applicant, greater protection may be provided to individual trees <br />3831 by identifying a tree's unique dripline as the protection zone; in no instance shall a <br />3832 dripline provide less projection than a typical root protection zone. <br />3833 b. Proposed grading contours of the site (if applicable): <br />3834 c. Proposed location of building pads and other impervious surfaces being installed; <br />3835 d. Proposed locations and details of tree protection fencing to be installed for all treed areas to <br />3836 be protected. <br />3837 2. At the discretion of the Community Development Department, a simplified Tree Preservation <br />3838 Plan may also be submitted when a significant majority of trees will be preserved on a site, and <br />3839 the few trees to be impacted within the area of activity will clearly not exceed allowed removal <br />3840 thresholds. <br />3841 3. An escrow as required by 1011.04(M) shall still be required for any activity which can be <br />3842 permitted with a simplified Tree Preservation plan set. <br />3843 I.
