31 4. Communication Items <br />32 5. Assistant Public Works Director/City Engineer Jennifer Lowry provided a brief <br />33 review and update on projects and maintenance activities listed in the staff report <br />34 dated August 22, 2023. <br />35 <br />36 Member Mueller asked regarding the Weir if anything has been done on that. <br />37 <br />38 Mr. Freihammer indicated a couple of weeks ago the County was out tightening <br />39 some bolts. <br />40 <br />41 Member Hodder asked what is the 711 Shryer project. <br />42 <br />43 Ms. Lowry explained it is a small development called the Villas or Reservoir <br />44 Woods. <br />45 <br />46 Member Cicha asked what the tree requirements are when developing a property. <br />47 <br />48 Mr. Freihammer indicated there are rules, Community Development leads that so <br />49 he was not sure about the specifics, but the developer has to do a tree inventory, <br />50 submit a tree preservation plan, and the City has a consultant that reviews it. <br />51 <br />52 Member Mueller asked if the developer pays a fee for trees does the fee for trees <br />53 go elsewhere in the community. <br />54 <br />55 Mr. Freihammer indicated he does not know the details, but the theory is trees <br />56 would be planted in neighborhoods. He explained next month he will have <br />57 someone from Community Development review the policy with the Commission. <br />58 <br />59 Chair Ficek asked for the Ramsey County Bench Grant he wondered how many <br />60 have applied. <br />61 <br />62 Ms. Lowry indicated there are seven and it is to establish bench routes that are fifty <br />63 feet to a quarter mile apart. <br />64 <br />65 Chair Ficek asked if the benches will all be along Lexington. <br />66 <br />67 Ms. Lowry explained these will go from County Road C up to Josephine Beach and <br />68 then two along Woodhill as well. <br />69 <br />70 6.
