IG5iRNITiL-- iit!
- CODE OF ORDINANCES
Chapter 14 - BUSINESSES AND LICENSING
ARTICLE V. COURTESY BENCHES
ARTICLE V. COURTESY BENCHES
DIVISION 1. GENERALLY
Sec. 14-226. Purpose.
The city council finds that the placement of benches at or near mass -transit stops in the city provides a
necessary service to the persons waiting for buses. The placement of such benches typically is on or near the public
right-of-way and can affect the safe flow of traffic. Definitions.
The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them
in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:
Courtesy bench means any bench or similar structure placed in the city on or adjacent to the public rights -of -
way at or near mass -transit stops for the use of the general public.
Issuing authority means the city clerk.
Cross reference(s)—Definitions generally, § 1-2.
Secs. 14-228-14-255.
