Regular City Council Meeting <br /> Monday, October 23, 2023 <br /> Page 9 <br /> because they are cheaper, easier to maintain with any equipment,melts snow better, <br /> and easier to patch. <br /> Councilmember Schroeder indicated in the packet she noticed there were a number <br /> of legal concerns, and she wondered if City Attorney Tierney was feeling as <br /> comfortable as an attorney can be that the City addressed all of that. <br /> City Attorney Tierney explained she has reviewed all of the legal documents in the <br /> file and some of the property documents that came through today and indicted she <br /> did not have any concerns. <br /> Councilmember Strahan wanted to make some clarifying points that the City has a <br /> long list of connections with the community and a lot of contact and while things <br /> have changed a bit, this is not a new topic. The Council has discussed this many <br /> times. As far as this, it was added to the Master Plan several years ago and she did <br /> not want the Council to go back too much to rehash something that has been <br /> determined. <br /> Strahan moved, Schroeder seconded, authorizing staff to finalize plans for the <br /> Tamarack Pathway and advertise for bids. <br /> Roll Call <br /> Ayes: Etten, Schroeder, Groff, Strahan, and Roe. <br /> Nays: None <br /> Strahan moved, Etten seconded, authorizing staff to finalize plans for the Wagner <br /> Pathway and advertise for bids. <br /> Roll Call <br /> Ayes: Etten, Schroeder, Groff, Strahan, and Roe. <br /> Nays: None <br /> d. Update on Rosefest Planning for 2024 Including Possible Alteration to July 4 <br /> Party in the Park and Fireworks, and 10K Run. <br /> Parks and Recreation Director Matthew Johnson briefly highlighted this item as <br /> detailed in the Request for Council Action and related attachments dated October <br /> 23, 2023. <br /> Councilmember Strahan asked what the average length of a City festival. <br /> Mr. Johnson explained staff did some research on this and it really does run the <br /> gamut. He indicated Roseville is the longest one that has been encountered, <br /> significantly. He thought things like Stockyard Days and St. Anthony Village Fest <br /> are typically a three-to four-day event. Maple Grove typically runs closer to a full <br /> week and is the longest one staff encountered as it was looked into. <br />
