Regular City Council Meeting <br /> Monday,November 6, 2023 <br /> Page 7 <br /> Ms. Molli Slade, Ms. Dunia Ahmed, and Sally Vanerstrom reviewed their history <br /> with the Community Action Team and the reason why they wanted to be on the <br /> team. <br /> Ms. Vanerstrom reviewed the client calls for service in 2023 and how each person <br /> was treated. <br /> Deputy Chief Adams concluded the update for the City Council. <br /> Councilmember Groff thanked the team for all of the work being done.He indicated <br /> he has heard rave reviews from people in the community. <br /> Councilmember Schroeder thanked the team for the work. She has heard many <br /> great things and talks about the Community Action Team to other city officials. <br /> Councilmember Etten echoed all of the positive things being said. He thanked the <br /> team for their work. <br /> Councilmember Strahan indicated she had the opportunity to do a ride-along a year <br /> ago and the team has grown since then but those few hours were super impactful to <br /> her and adds a level of understanding. She thought the overwhelming response <br /> from residents was that people know the value of the team in the community. <br /> Mayor Roe echoed all that was stated by the City Council. He noted the two <br /> questions that come to his mind are that they are probably not providing enough <br /> resources in this area, even for the City of Roseville. The other piece of it is that <br /> the City could and should be advocates for more funding,more support for this type <br /> of work through Minnesota and the Country, and anything the Council can do to <br /> get this on the radar of the Legislatures, decision makers, and policy makers at high <br /> levels.He thanked the Community Action Team for all they have done and continue <br /> to do. <br /> e. Review the Proposed 2024 Proposed Utility Rates <br /> Finance Director Michelle Pietrick briefly highlighted this item as detailed in the <br /> Request for Council Action and related attachments dated November 6, 2023. <br /> Councilmember Schroeder thanked Ms. Pietrick for the presentation. She asked <br /> for clarification under the base fee if that is where the capital is. <br /> Ms. Pietrick indicated capital is in both the base and usage fee. <br /> Councilmember Schroeder stated she went back to the spreadsheets, CIP, and the <br /> capital fund for the sanitary sewer and it showed there was a lot of money in that <br /> account, more than the City needed. She wondered if the City needed to do an <br /> increase on this. Part of the reason she is asking is with property rates going up, <br />
