Street Light Policy <br />Other Cities <br />Stillwater <br />• Petition of 35% or more of the property owners in an existing subdivision, or the council themselves, determine where a <br />lighting system will be installed. Council schedules hearing at which they will consider project. <br />Maple Grove: <br />• Council determines from time to time areas that need operating street light systems. They hold a hearing when a location is <br />selected <br />• At the hearing, the property owners express their opinion and desirability of the proposed project. <br />• The hearing can be skipped if 100% owner approval is achieved. <br />Elk River <br />• Street lighting of a type approved by the city may be required at all intersections and other locations within the subdivision. <br />Eagan <br />• Street light installed and operated by city when Petition achieves 50% or more from property owners in subdivision, or if the <br />council desires. <br />
