At the cammission meeting in June, fihe overall design as propased by the
Hghway Department was reviewed and discussedl with in}erestl parties.
The current design suggests,as you recall, the recommended folded diamond
design at County Road C(as proposed by the Village earlier) anr! a diamond
interchageatHdmlineAvenue just north of the Village (imits. These
entrchanyes waufd then be connected by cantinuous frontage roads on either
side of Snelling Avenue wifih an overpass proposed at t,dia,
2. Previous design considerations for the arer of the highway in question included
an nterchange at ounty Raad C-2 which would have fit into the normal
half-mil e grid thoroughfare p(an of the Vi I lag of Rosevi I I e. You wi ( recal l
the difficulties Pn accomplishing an intercharge at County Road C-2, however,
particularly wifih respect to its effect on properties on the wst side of Snelling
Avnue, We nre also warned by th Viling Engineer and ofihrs of the presence
of exfireme soil cnditions o the west side in the vicinity of the C2 crossing.
The real problem however, with respect to an interchange at C-2 is the extremely
limited weaving distance between the ramps at County Road C and the peoposed
interchange at C-2.
3. The Planning Cammission has suggested that we consider a design which could
accompl ish an interchange somewhat equi-distant between the interchange at
CndHamlineAvenue. We have prepared overlays which indicate how this
might be caccomplished. These will be available for review at the Planning
Commission hearing,
