This is also a case where <br />members of the <br />Planning <br />Commission and <br />Council may wish to visit <br />the site so as <br />to ascertain the physical <br />conditions in the field. Of <br />course, it would <br />have been better if the <br />sign location would have <br />been anticipated <br />at the <br />time of the <br />development design. At that time, however, it was <br />not considered <br />essential on the part of the <br />applicants. <br />B. The Brannon's report that the the car wash has been successful, but <br />that they are receiving complaints from their customers (and potential <br />customers) finding it difficult to locate. We had in fact suggested that <br />with the additional parking being provided to the site, that perhaps the <br />elimination of a parking space and an attempt to make the sign <br />conforming would be worthwhile. They, in turn, feel that the proposal <br />as submitted represents the best solution. <br />9. If the sign variance is approved, it would be appropriate to attach a <br />condition that the sign height and sign be limited to 16 feet and 70 <br />square feet respectively. <br />
