C - Roseville, MN Gentlemen: At the June 8, 1987 City Council Meeting, the issued was raised concerning Kayo Oil Company giving up one of its accesses to County Rd. C, if given access to the access road to the west of the store. The Special Use Permit and variance were tabled at that time so that the issue could be pursued. On June 9, 1987, we contacted Dave Janisch asking him to arrange for representatives of Marie Slawik to meet with us at the Roseville City Hall to discuss the issue of sharing of access between properties. When we went to the meeting on Wednesday, June 10, 1987, we were told that nobody from the Slawik group was interested in meeting with us. We might add that we have made contact with representatives of Marie Slawik on earlier occasions expressing our interest in sharing curb cuts and accesses. However, we have heard nothing from them. Therefore, we have written another letter to them expressing our continued interest (see attached copy). Since the June 8, 1987 City Council Meeting, we have heard discussed the issue of two accesses on County Rd. C with the Ramsey county traffic engineers and the Roseville engineers. Both said they see no problem with Kayo having two accesses and therefore, have no objection to the two accesses remaining. Regardless of whether or not Kayo has access to the access road, we feel that surrendering one of the accesses on County Rd. C would adversely impact the operation of our business. Therefore, we would not be willing to give up an access to County Rd. C for access to the access road. However, if we could arrange with Marie Slawik to have access to the access road, the traffic situation would only be improved.
