MERILA & ASSOCIATES, INC.
ENGINEERS, SURVEYORS SITE PLANNERS L NNERS
7216 Boone Avenue North • Brooklyn Park, MN 55428
Telephone: (612) 533-7595
RECENELi APR 8 1987
April '1 , 19811
Mr. Larry Feldhahn, P.E.
Ramsey County Department
of Public Works
3377 North Rice Street
St. Paul, Minnesota 55112
Re: Proposed Drainage
Roseville Shopping Center
County Road C, West of Snelling Avenue
Project No. 86-046
Dear Mr. Feldhahn:
Thank you again for your time and information regarding the
drainage system in County Road C adjacent to our site.
As you are aware, I am the consulting civil engineer for
Lincoln Companies for their proposed development on the above
referenced site. By this letter, I am requesting consider-
ation to allow an additional piping connection outlet from
the existing ponding area located at the southeast corner of
our site into the county's system on County Road C.
I have included a copy of our proposed Grading and Drainage
I Plan and our calculation for the site runoff. The proposed
pipe is marked in red on the plan.
' From our calculations, it can be seen that there was approx-
imately 3.99 acres of the Glendenning site which drained
directly onto County Road C, accounting for approximately
10.2 cubic feet per second for the 100 year rainfall event.
i
In addition, approximately 5.57 acres of the existing
Glendenning site drains to the existing pond at the southeast
corner. This pond currently has an outlet via a 15 inch pipe
under the frontage road and into the county's system. It has
f been calculated that this 15 inch outlet
t 1 6 will pass
ap roxi
p ma e y cfs. (See diagram.)
9
