PLANNING REPORT
DATE:
CASE NUMBER:
APPLICANT:
LOCATION:
ACTION REQUESTED:
PLANNING CONSIDERATIONS:
2 October 1985
1626-85
City of Roseville
Roseville
Zoning Ordinance Amendment
Regarding Liquor Store
Parking
1. The City Council has requested that the Planning Commission
consider an a endment to the zoning ordinance allowing
parking access( y to a free standing, off -sale liquor store
to be permittea in the B-1 zone. This action is requested
so as to allow the northerly portion of the Robert Graham
site to be zoned B-1 rather than B-2. The Council is of the
opinion that this offers some protection to the neighbors to
the north and east whose properties are zoned single family.
The Graham site, you will recall, was considered by the
Planning Commission at its last regular meeting and was
located at the northwesterly corner of Roselawn and
Lexington Avenues.
The proposal then is to:
Add parking for an off -sale liquor store in a B-1
District, wherein such property is located contiguous
to a B-2, B-3, or B-4 zone occupied by a free standing
off -sale liquor store.
NOTE: To the Planning Commission and Council:
The recently completed parking study done by the American
Institute of Traffic Engineers has been ordered from its
headquarters in Washington D.C. To our surprise, this
publication has not yet arrived. Telephone calls to the
headquarters inform us that the book will arrive shortly at
our offices. They noted that the book has been ordered from
all over the country and they are having some problems
handling the orders. Our book will arrive soon and can be
used as one of the elements in reviewing the overall parking
standards for the City.
