1 <br />DIVISION 1 <br />GENERAL REQUIREMENTS <br />01640 - SUBSTITUTIONS AND PRODUCT OPTIONS <br />1. GENERAL <br />A. This Section covers furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and <br />performing all work and services for furnishing, submission processing, <br />and handling of requests for substitution and product options. See items <br />as indicated on drawings and as specified. Any substitution or option <br />shall be in accord with provisions of Contract Documents, and completely <br />coordinated with work of all other trades. <br />B. Although such work is not specifically indicated, furnish all supple- <br />mentary or miscellaneous items, appurtenances and devices incidental to or <br />necessary for a sound, secure and complete installation. <br />C. See appropriate sections for specific items specified. See General <br />1 Conditions for additional information. <br />2. ADDRESS FOR SUBMISSION <br />A. REQUESTS FOR SOSTITUTION - GENERAL <br />A. <br />Base all bids on materials, equipment and procedures specified. <br />B. <br />Certain types of equipment and kinds of material are described in <br />specifications by means of trade names and catalog numbers and/or <br />manufacturer's names. Where this occurs it is not intended to exclude <br />from consideration such types of equipment and kinds of material bearing <br />other trade names, catalog numbers and/or manufacturer's names, capable of <br />accomplishing purpose of types of equipment or kinds of material <br />specifically indicated. <br />C. <br />Other types of equipment and kinds of material may be acceptable to Owner <br />and Architect. <br />D. <br />Types of equipment, kinds of material and methods of construction if not <br />specifically indicated must be approved in writing by Architect and be <br />agreed upon by Owner prior to letting of Contract. <br />4. <br />SUBMISSION OF WRITTEN REQUESTS FOR SUBSTITUTION <br />A. <br />During bidding period, Architect will consider written requests for <br />substitutions of products, materials, systems or other items. Requests <br />must be received by Architect at least seven (7) calendar days prior to <br />bid date.
