1 <br />DIVISION 3 <br />CONCRETE <br />03500 - CEMENTITIOUS UNDERLAYMENT <br />I. <br />GENERAL <br />A. <br />Provide <br />all laborg materials, tools, equipment, services and perform all <br />operations required for complete installation <br />of all gypsum concrete <br />underlayment and related work as shown on the drawings or specified <br />herein. <br />B. <br />Although such work is not specifically shown or specified, all <br />supplementary or miscellaneous items, appurtenances and devices incidental <br />to <br />or necessary for a sound, secure and complete installation shall be <br />furnished and installed <br />as part of this work. <br />' <br />C. <br />Related items specified elsewhere: <br />' <br />1. Section 03430 - Structural Precast, Prestressed Concrete <br />2. <br />APPROVED MANUFACTURER <br />' <br />A. <br />Gypsum Concrete Underlayment: GYP-CRETE as manufactured by the Gyp -Crete <br />Corporation. <br />' <br />1. Comparable materials as manufacturered by U.S. Gypsum, Cellular <br />Concrete Inc., Forta-Fill by Hacker Industries <br />Inc. are acceptable <br />substitutions. <br />B. <br />Concrete Base Underlayment: Thoro Underlayment as manufactured by Thoro <br />System Products. <br />I. Comparable material as manufacturered by Ardex Inc. (K-15) is an <br />acceptable substitution. <br />' <br />2. Provide concrete base underlayment in the following wet areas: <br />Room <br />a. P117 Whirlpool, Room <br />m P132 Spa, Room P116 Sauna, Room P112 <br />Shower, and Room P118 Whirlpool Equipment. <br />3. <br />MATERIALS <br />A. <br />Gypsum Concrete Underlayment: <br />' <br />1. <br />Gypsum cement shall consist of cal�ined gypsum containing not less <br />than 66.0% by weight of CaSO4.1/2H 0, as specified in ASTM C28-68 for <br />gypsum plasters. <br />2. Sand: 1/16" or less washed mason sand, washed mortar sand or washed <br />' <br />plaster sand. <br />3.
