..� FML, Inc. <br />STS Project 93589 <br />August 28, 1985 <br />4- <br />ANALYSIS AND RESULTS <br />Subsurface Exploration and Laboratory <br />Testina Procedures <br />The soil borings performed for this project were drille <br />d using a <br />rubber tire mounted all -terrain vehicle auger type drill rig which <br />1 used continuous flight hollow stem augers to advance the borings to <br />full depth. g <br />p Representative soil samples were obtained using the <br />1 split -barrel sampling procedure in general conformance with ASTM <br />specification D 1586. A continuous field log of the drilling <br />procedures used and soils encountered was maintained by the drill <br />1 crew. The drillingand sampling mpling procedures are described in more <br />detail in the Appendix of this report. The soil samples recovered <br />in the drilling and sampling operations were ret <br />urned to our <br />laboratory for further visual examination and classification and <br />j laboratory testing. The sample classification and testing <br />procedures as well as procedures regarding field logs, laboratory <br />i data sheets and samples are also described in more detail in the <br />-1 Appendix. <br />a <br />Site Conditions <br />The site is of relatively level to gently sloping terrain located <br />at the southeast quadrant of the intersection of Highway 36 and <br />Victoria Street in Roseville, Minnesota. On the western boundary <br />of the site, the ground surface slopes up to the Victoria Street <br />bridge, crossing Highway 36. In the southwest corner of the <br />property, a <br />portion of the former borrow pit approximately 30-ft <br />deep is being filled with soil and construction debris by the City <br />Of St. Paul. The filled portion of the site has been graded <br />relatively flat at elevation of approximately 935 to 937 ft. The <br />natural terrain to the east is also relativelyflat lying, <br />and <br />includes some trees and bushes. Ground surface elevations range <br />from approximately 930 ft to 938 ft USGS.
