April 9, 1984
James Andre
Roseville City Manager
2660 Civic Center Dr.
Roseville, MN 55113
cc:, Roseville City Council
Mr. Andre:
We were recently informed by the Roseville Planning Commission that Roseville
has no prohibition against the establishment of a public place which serves
liquor 7 days a week, adjacent to a church, school, park or playground.
Apparently, the need for such an ordinance hasn't arisen in the past or common
sense has prevented the need for such an ordinance.
Now, however, the proposal before the planning commission and the city council
for the rezoning of R-1 and B-1 land to B-2 and the request for a liquor
license for Fuddrucker s Restaurant has mandated the need for such an ordinance.
We therefore request that the city of Roseville pass an ordinance restricting
the establishment of such an establishment which serves liquor to the public
from being adjacent, abutting or being contiguous to a church, school, park or
playground.
The safety and well being of our most precious of all natural resources, our
children, should take precedence over any and all other considerations. We
thank you in advance for thoughtful consideration.
incerely,
Darryl M. Galush
Judith A. Galush
