Waldron
SUBJECT: Update on Lexington School
As noted in the various planning reL.jrts, the approval of
Lexington School will require an ancillary agreement. The status
of the agreement is as follows:
1) Police School Liaison Officer
Through my discussions with the' Police Chief, it appears that
this issue has been resolved. The position is currently within
the City's budget and simply would have to be implemented at the
first of the year. Through the implementation of this position,
it would secure an additional acre of land from the school
district.
2) Potential Tax Increment for Possible Housing
This issue will have to be resolved by the City Council. In
effect, the agreement would contain language stating that the
Council would consider the use of Tax increment to facilitate
housing on this site between the years 2-10. The City would have
t at
no obliga
tion to consider tax incre
ment
outside of h
particular time frame.
3) The City's Purchase of Additional Acre of Park
This item is still in progress. Staff is waiting for the
completion of an appraisal which would help ascertain an
appropriate price. Subsequent to a completion of the appraisal,
the City could make an offer to Mr. Kaufhold.
Pleaae contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
Thank you.
