PLANNING REPORT
DATE: 11 July 1984
CASE NUMBER: 1496-84
APPLICANT:' Roselawn Cemetery Association
LOCATION: Northeasterly of Larpenteur Avenue and
Victoria Street
ACTION REQUESTED: Approval of Preliminary Cemetery Plat
PLANNING CONSIDERATIONS:
1. At the last meeting of the Commission, this application was deferred to
the July meeting so as to ascertain the petitioner's position regarding
the possible dedication of an additional ten feet of right-of-way for
Victoria Street contiguous to their properties.
2. Since that time, the City has received a letter from the applicant
requesting the application for approval of the preliminary plats to be
withdrawn. The reasons stated were the cost of filing fees relating to a
per lot fee, which the engineer representing the cemetery association had
previously informed us they felt was excessive. This fee relates to a
county fee, and based on the approximately 2,600 lots proposed to be
platted, represents an obstacle in their opinion. Thus, it would appear
that no action is required of the Planning Commission or Council at this
time.
