Case III - General Permit 001 - MN <br />For projects where fill is being placed into waterbodies as part of a <br />bridge replacemf--it project and <br />the existing structure will be removed; <br />the road will be on the same or similar ali,gmient; <br />not more than 0.25 acres of wetland will be filled (any excess <br />excavated material must be disposed of at upland locations); <br />the project will not include any channel change work; <br />you may apply for a General Permit by sending application to the Corps <br />of Engineers and specifying that: <br />This is a bridge replacemnt project in accordance with Paragraph (p) <br />of the General Permit. <br />A Ika Permit will be applied for, has been applied for, or has been <br />issued. Specify which condition applies. <br />The existing structure will be removed. <br />The road will be on the same or similar aligTm-eZt (tell which). <br />Mention the acreage of wetland being filled and that excess material <br />will be disposed of at an upland location. <br />The project does not include any channel change work. <br />A copy of the General Permit is attached for reference. <br />If you anticipate that the General Permit will apply, mention this, and <br />mention that: (1) You will be applying for the Permit; (2) the date you <br />did apply; or (3) that the Permit has been issued (attach the letter <br />from COE stating that the General Permit applies). <br />Case IV - Individual Permit: If any fill is being placed into any <br />waterbody, and none of the above cases applies, an individual Section <br />404 Permit will be required. Ili this case, state that an individual <br />Permit is required and give the status of your Permit application. If ` <br />the Permit has been issued, mention this and attach a copy. <br />NOTE: Not every situation is covered in the above "cases." A review of <br />the attached Federal Register excerpt and sale General Permit may <br />provide a more pertinent application for some conditions. When a complete <br />review of this memo and the attachments does not clearly reveal the <br />applicable Permit situation, early coordination with the Corps of Engineers <br />is recommended. <br />
