To: Planning Commission Members
From: Karl P. Keel, Assistant Public Works Director
Re: Drainage on the Shultz lot split proposal
Date: March 29, 1989
At your March 1, 1989, Planning Commission Meeting, issues were
raised concerning the site drainage at 3007 Victoria Avenue. The
following is a short description of the general drainage pattern
of the site. A detailed investigation will be completed when a
building permit is applied for. Until that time, the actual site
alterations are unknown.
The majority of the site currently drains directly west toward
Lydia Drive. Upon reaching Lydia Drive, the water is collected
in a storm sewer system and directed west on Millwood Avenue
where it eventually reaches the Ramsey County open space
contiguous to Lake Josephine.
The total amount of additional run-off generated by a new single-
family home is small in comparison to the total site drainage.
Any alterations to the site should be designed to minimize any
soil erosion. Again, these issues are considered with the
building permit application.
