Tn addition
to a fringe of upland shrubs around each pond, we suggest that a buffer area of
undisturbed vegetation be provided that is as wide as possible. The maximum
benefit to wildlife will be achieved with a 50-100 foot buffer area. We realize
that this may not be feasible on this site. Ponds without an adjacent buffer
area will have only limited wildlife value.
Thank you for the opportunity to review this project. If you have any questions
regarding these comments, please contact Don Buckhout of my staff at (612)
296-8212.
Sincerely,
5oespli M.
