The variance would be in regards
to setback and size. The zoning ordinances involved are 14.100 in regards
to setback and 14.170 as amended in ordinance 878 in regards to size.
The Sperry Roseville site is currently 1.5 million sq.ft. with 20 points
of entry. ibis includes 14 personnel entrances and 6 docks. It is
extremely difficult and cumbersome to direct visitors to our location.
Sperry has over 10,000 visitors yearly.
Recently, Sperry dropped the Univac portion of its name. This prompted
a comprehensive signage updating. The directional signs are a portion
of this comprehensive signage program. The intent of this signage program
is to identify the Sperry site, the Sperry buildings, and direct visitors
to specifically numbered entrances.
The installation of these directional signs will provide a design
consistency throughout the site improving the aesthetics. With properly
marked entrances and directional signs, traffic flow through the area
will be substantially improved.
A variance for sign setback was granted on March 13, 1972 by the Roseville
Village Council. These new directional signs will essentially be replacing
those signs.
If you have any further questions regarding this variance application,
please call me at 635-6470.
Sincerely.
J.
