I understand that this request will be considered by the City Council on Jan. 22, 1990. I first learned of this on Friday, Jan. 12, 1990, at tho eloaing of my purchase of 1752 Dunlap St. Being quite distressed about this, I am now taking this opportunity to address it with you. I feel quite opposed to dividing up the lots in question in such a way as to allow for new construction of a single family dwelling -- which would be immediately south of me. I don't think the proposed lot would be in keeping with the other lots in that area and I think it could negatively affect adjacent property values. I have looked at the locations of the stakes for the proposed lot division, and also feel that having a lot with such a small frontage next to me (and a house as close to me as it would have to be on such a narrow lot) would definitely have a negative impact on any resale potential for my property, should that be an issue in the future. Since this is such a personal issue, I'd like to also make a personal statement. I have just spent what, for me, is a considerable sum of money to purchase my new home. I did so because of the atmosphere of the neighborhood and because of the specific location of the house. Frankly, I don't know if I would have done so if I had known there was the possibility of having a new neighbor practically in my lap! I sincerely hope that the request for re -dividing lots 12, 1.3, & 14, Block 1, Lexington Heights, for the purposes of resale for new construction, will be denied. Sincerely, %1 Anne E.E. Aten
