M <br />Department Approval: <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />DATE: 9/09/85 <br />ITEM NO.: 6 - <br />Manager Reviewed: Agenda Section: <br />Hearings <br />Item Description: Hess Hair Milk Laboratories Variance Request <br />for Front Yard and Side Yard Setbacks and <br />Variance of Front Parking at 1911 Rice Street <br />Mr. Hess is proposing to demolish two wooden buildings of approximately <br />8,400 square feet and erect a new concrete building of approximately <br />6,600 square feet. He is requesting the following variances: <br />1. Variance to front yard setback on old building of 3 feet 10 <br />inches. <br />2. Variance to side yard setback on remaining old building of <br />20.4 inches. <br />3. Variance to side yard setback on proposed new building of <br />15 feet. <br />4. Variance for parking lot code from ten spaces to six parking <br />spaces. <br />Mr. Hess did not submit the usual site plans depicting drainage, <br />landscaping, etc. The Planning Commission believed that it dial <br />not have enough information to make a decision regarding Mr. <br />Hess's request. Thus, the Planning Commission voted to table Mr. <br />Hess's request to provide him additional time to improve his <br />application. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Motion continuing the Hess request for variances at 1911 Rice <br />Street until the October 7, 1985 City Council Meeting. <br />
