f990 <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Department Approval: <br />Manager Reviewed: <br />DATE: 6-12-89 <br />ITEM NO.: le, e <br />Agenda Section: <br />S-\ Report and Recommendation <br />Item Description: Alice Larson request for a minor variance at <br />682 Shryer Avenue. <br />The Minor Variance Committee convened on May 25, 1989 and <br />unanimously recommended approval of a variance to allow the <br />applicant to have 2 driveways separated by 3-1/2 feet instead of the <br />required 10 feet. The applicant currently has an 18 foot 4 inch <br />wide driveway and then 2 two foot wide concrete strips 5 feet apart <br />which go from the street to the back yard. A 30 foot curb cut <br />would be required for both driveways to be within one curb cut which <br />is 4 feet wider than the maximum allowed by City ordinance. The <br />Minor Variance Committee felt it would be more appropriate to grant <br />a variance to allow two separate curb cuts with a 3-1/2 foot <br />separation than for a 30 foot driveway. <br />All impacted neighbors supported the project. <br />Requirement: <br />Proposed: <br />Variance: <br />% Variance: <br />10 feet <br />3-1/2 feet <br />6-1/2 feet <br />65% <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: Motion -to approve/deny Alice Larson's <br />request for a minor variance at 682 <br />Shryer Avenue. <br />
