MEMORANDUM
January 10, 1990
Page 2
TEMPORARY OFFICES:
Gerry stated that DHDSC had reached an agreement with Rosedale Center
in which a portion of the Community Room would be used by them as temporary
office space for roughly four months. Short of constructing a full -height
separation wall, freestanding screen walls to define office spaces and the cutting
of a new door to access the existing Dayton's store, the Community Room
would remain as is.
John requested that the separation wall be of one -hour fire resistive construction
and that the new access door and frame be of a one -hour fire rating. Gordon
agreed to allow this work to occur under the project's building permit.
PHASE ONE ISSUES:
Rick requested prints of building elevations for the City's review and record.
BTR informed Rick that partial elevations were issued as apart of Addendum No. 1
to Phase 1. However, since building elevation materials were not apart of the
Phase 1 bid package, these materials would not be identified as such on the
elevations. Dave assured Rick that materials presented to both the Planning
Commission and City Council are the ones DHDSC intends to use on the b- " ling.
Gerry will transmit elevation drawings to the City.
The status of landscape plan: was also discussed. To date, DHDSC has not
finalized landscape plans. Dave pointed out that since their design calls for
a double row of trees along tine western facade, DHDSC Is anxious to have a
landscaper under contracr so that these trees can begin to be accumulated.
Rick stated that the City will require a landscape bond in the amount of the
landscape contract.
It was agreed that as soon as DHDSC has a landscape contract, they would
submit the value of landscaping to the City which would then allow the City
to prepare an accurate landscape bond. Final landscape plans would also need
to be submitted to the City at that time.
BUILDING PERMIT:
The City agreed to issue one building permit for the entire project. John pointed
out that fire sprinkler costs should not be included in the total building cost since
these fees will be assessed under the fire sprinkler permit. Gerry will complete
the building permit applications for DHDSC.
John Akiba, Jr., AIA
cc: All Present
File / Notebook
