Request For Minor variance; Driveway
March 10, 1989
We would like to request a variance for our driveway
located at 1738 Chatsworth, Rosevi'le. We would like to
nave a single opening onto Chatsw,-_th for our driveway and
the driveway located at 1744 Chatsworth. These two
driveways are separated by a two foot strip of concrete.
Both driveways are nine feet in width. Both driveways are
located between the two houses at these two addresses. Both
driveways terminate in garages at the rear of the two
houses. Both driveways are separated from their respective
houses by a one foot strip of land. Thus, neither driveway
can be physically moved to comply with the required ten foot
separation between driveways.
We purchased the residence at 1738 Chatsworth in November,
1985. A previous owner had paved the two foot strip between
the two houses. our house was built in 1954. I believe the
house at 1744 Chatsworth was built in the same year. Both
driveways were built in their present location at the time
the two houses were constructed. Neither residence has a
large enough front yard to enable moderately curved
driveways to be built with separate outlets onto Chatsworth.
Both front yards contain mature trees in close proximity to
the driveway. This will make it difficult to move the
outlet onto Chatsworth without removing the trees. We would
like to continue the practice of having one outlet onto
Chatsworth serving both driveways.
amen R. shley 4Dr thy M. hley
