The demolition deposit may reuse utility
deposits if the utilities have been properly abandoned and
inspected. The demolition deposit will only be refunded
after a successful inspection by city staff.
RELOCATION: Permits for relocations will only be issued to
house moving contractors who are properly licensed by the
state. A two step permit process will be followed.
The first step of the permit is a "Load and Hold" permit.
This part would allow the house mover to go on the site,
prepare the house for moving, put it up on wheels, but not
remove it from the site. At this time, an inspection by
city staff will be made to insure proper abandonment of the
basement, dishing of the walls, fencing if necessary, and
overall safety and condition of site.
After a successful inspection, the Chief Code Enforcement
officer will issue the second part of the permit, the "House
Moving" portion. A final inspection to insure that no
damage was done to any curb, gutter, or roadway or that any
debris or dirt was left that required city cleanup. The
permit holder is responsible for all cleanup and will be
directly billed for any cleanup not performed in a timely
manner.
