HWY. 35W & COUNTY RD. C • ROSEVILLE, MN 55113
Phone (612) 633-3500
December 2, 1988
Mr. Steve North
Acting City Manager
City of Roseville
2660 Civic Center Drive
Roseville MN 55113
Dear Mr. North:
Roseville Chrysler -Plymouth has been in business almost seven years. As
the owner of both the real estate and the business I am most happy that
I was able to locate in the Roseville area as it has proved to be an
outs.anding business climate to operate in.
When the original three dealerships were built in the 1970's, the
emphasis for display of new and used vehicles was on the 35W Freeway
side. Now with the development of Long Lake Road with the new Dodge
dealership and new 1?ghting display at McCarthy's Oldsmobile, it becomes
apparant that the west side of our facility, or Long Lake Road is an
important display area for our products.
We are adding additional lighting to the lot area adjacent to Long Lake
Road for security reasons and display, and relocating our used car lot
to the Long Lake Road side of our facility on temporary twelve month trial
basis. In order to accomplish this we are requesting the City Council's
approval to place a 14' x 56' Modular building that would be used for
sitting down with customers while closing the sale. All of our main sales,
finance and business office functions would continue to be performed in
our main facility. The proposed temporary structure is simular to the units
currently in use by the -Roseville School System. The unit would be fully
insulated with electric heat and air conditioning.
We propose to completely skirt the unit which would give a permanant
appearance of a regular building. In addition, we would add landscaping
to the grass area on Long Lake Road in the spring to give an enhanced
appearance to the property.
