ECONOMIC IMPACT .ANALYSIS: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Minneapolis Business College provides residents of Roseville and the citizens of Minnesota with access to good quality career education. To the extent that young people in the area take this training and remain to work in the community advantage of after graduation, MBC provides direct economic benefits to them, their employers and, through their taxes and purchases, to the City and area merchants. MBC's proposed project will result in structures which will add to the tax base of the City of Roseville. It employs a well- educated workforce which spends part of its wages in the community. The College purchases goods and services from vendors in the community. In these ways, it is directly responsible for $707,538 in business activities. The overall economic impact on the area of MBC's expenditures and those of its students is as follows: $615021279 of Roseville's economy is a result of MBC's presence in the community. MBC stimulates about 170 jobs in the area. Minneapolis Business College has benefitted from its location in Roseville. The easy accessibility, convenient shopping and restaurants, attractive residential communities and high quality education in Roseville and surrounding school districts make this an excellent home for our programs. The findings of our research demonstrate that MBC can be viewed as an important economic entity. Without factoring in the visits and expenditures by the parents of studentst rent paid by off - campus students, major household purchases and a number of other economic activities, the study shows a high return on the investment in human capital. Making technical career skill training readily available is a valuable service MBC provides. That this business p rpose results in significant economic impact further reinforce•. the wisdom of public investment which in fact involves no budget expenses and indeed will pay dividends in Future years. 1 n 1
