REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION DATE: 9-26.-88 c� <br />ITEM NO.: — J <br />Depar ent Appi�o <br />val: Manager Reviewed: Agenda Section: <br />Report and Recommendations <br />Item Descri on: John Torgerson request for a shoreline <br />building permit and variance at 1901 Shady <br />Beach Avenue. <br />A shoreline building permit has been requested for the construction <br />of a garage at 1901 Shady Beach Avenue. The proposed 24x30 garage <br />would be set back approximately 90 ft from the lake shore and would <br />be located forward of the existing dwelling on the site. The <br />proposed garage would be consistent with the shoreline ordinance but <br />would not meet the zoning ordinance requirements that garages be <br />located behind the dwelling. The proposed garage wouldset back. <br />back Baal <br />approximately 40 ft from Shady Beach Avenue and is set <br />to or greater than other detached garages in the area. It is <br />suggested that a condition of approval might be that the garage be <br />at least 6 feet from the dwelling instead the 5 feet shown on the <br />plan, that it beset back at least 5 feet from the side property <br />line as shown on the plan, and that the driveway be setback at least <br />5 feet from side property line. <br />The proposal has been reviewed by Howard Dahlgren and he indicates <br />that with the suggested condition above that there would be no <br />problem with the proposal. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: Motion approving/denying John Torgerson's <br />request for a shoreline building permit <br />variance at 1901 Shady Beach Avenue. <br />
