ROSEVILLE PLANNING COMMISSION <br />Wednesday, August 17, 1988 <br />August 17, 1988 special meeting of the Roseville Planning, <br />Commission was called to order by Chairperson Pat Johnson at <br />7:34 P.M. <br />Members Present: Berry, Stokes, DeBenedet, Goedeke, Moeller, <br />Maschka, Johnson <br />Members Absent: None <br />Staff Present: Waldron, Jopke <br />Council Present: None <br />Johnson welcomed the audience and ir.Ated them to provide input <br />and comments concerning the city's regulations pertaining to <br />outside storage and merchandising. <br />A representative from Super America stated that they would like <br />to be able to store merchandise (cases of pop) on the outside of <br />their building. <br />A representative of Super America asked what the intent of the <br />current ordinance was, and why it was enacted. Johnson responded <br />with the history and the need for these provisions. <br />Moeller asked why Super America had a trailer present, on the <br />site. A representative of Super America responded that there was <br />currently no trailer there, that there had been one there for an <br />oil sale and also for temporary storage while new carpeting was <br />being installed in the building. <br />DeBenedet said that the existing ordinance reflects the storage <br />needs of the past, but that a new ordinance should be enacted <br />which would reflect the current outside storage and merchandising <br />needs. <br />A representative from Super America, testified that outside <br />storage is necessary because of the quantities which they wish to <br />sell for economic reasons would not fit in their buildings. <br />Johnson pointed out that this was an operational issue. <br />The representative from Super America, pointed out that the <br />stores were built to have outside storage. Johnson replied that <br />Super America is fully aware of the city's concerns and <br />
