January 4, 1989
Rick Jopke
Planning and Zoning Administrator
2660 Civic Center Drive
Roseville, Mn. 55113
De"r Mr. Jopke :
Here are some questions/comments regarding planning file #1874,
ouside storage and merchandising.
Ordinance 8.190.2:
Does this ordinace indicate that
landscape materials (i.e., soil,
etc.) that I do not have to limit
Of my interior floor space? Or
that I am limited because I am
undefined) ?
if I store or mechandise
fertilizer, bark, edging,
the amount to a percentage
does this ordinance mean
a hardware store (as yet
I feel that if the answer to this question is that I am
limited, this is very unfair. You are discriminating
against certain types of retail stores.
Ordinance 8.190.3a:
It appears that the Planning Commission has chosen to
disregard all input in this area. I made a point to tell
you that I prefer at least 10t.
Ordinance 8.190.3c:
Does the proposal to this ordinance include landscape
materials, or is that not going to be regulated at stores
other than hardware stores/service stations?
As you recall, there was some discussion about the types of
items that could be displayed outside. At one of the
earlier meetings, this was brought up, discussed, and then
dropped.
Hardware stores/convenience stores carry a wide variety of
merchandise which involves many different mechandise
departments. If they chose to buy a large quantity of one
product to make a big/bulk display, they should be able to
display this merchandise, no matter how bulky it is, within
the proposed guidelines.
If you have any questions, please call me at North Heights
Hardware, 484-4266. I would appreciate a copy of the proposed
