APPLICANT STATEMENT 3 AUGUST 1988 CASE NUMBER 1873 John T Jenkins Alan M Deutsch I, Alan Deutsch own the home west of the easement, and have lived there almost 10 years. As a lifelong resident of Roseville I have a strong commitment to the area and would prefer to expand my present home rather than move elsewhere. I am requesting Roseville to vacate so that we may proceed with our expansion plans. Our house is a small rambler built in the early 50's that no longer meets the need's of our family of four. After considering such options as adding a second story or adding on behind the house to the south, we decided the most functional and most aesthetic option was to build to the east. Our house set back on the east is only. sixteen feet, therefore we require easement property to build on. We are requesting Roseville to vacate for this reason. John Jenkins currently has a gravel driveway located on the easement. It is John's intent to pave his driveway. When curb and gutter was installed on Oakcrest,John's apron was located,by Roseville, on the easement, with the understanding that the easement would eventually be vacated and John could proceed with paving his driveway. We are requesting Roseville to vacate for this reason. We would like to respond to the points raised in the planning report concerning access to the park and utility lines. Our plans in no way will restrict access. There is an existing 45 degree incline that limits vehicle traffic. When our plans proceed this incline will be contoured to match our property and actually improve access.As for the public's ability to reach the park, access is already nonexistent because of the swamp. Therefore park access is not a consideration here. By vacating, both we and our neighbors gain by having modern, aesthetically pleasing,well maintained homes that complement our neighborhood.
