REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION DATE: 4-25-88 <br />ITEM NO.: <br />Department App o al; Manager Reviewed: Agenda Section: <br />Report and Recommendation <br />Item Descript' n: Approval of a permit for temporary structure <br />at Stuart Anderson Cattle Company Restaurant <br />at 2750 Snelling Avenue North. <br />Stuart Anderson Cattle Company Restaurant has requested a permit to <br />allow them to put up a temporary tent structure. The Cattle Company <br />is proposing to conduct a dance-a-thon to benefit the Leukemia <br />Society on Sunday, June 5, 1988 from 10:00 an to 10:00 pm. The tent <br />would be put up in the Northwest corner parking area adjacent to <br />Snelling Avenue. Music for the event will be provided by KDWB. <br />There will be a disc jockey playing tapes or albums. Staff has <br />.reviewed the request and would suggest that if the Council wishes to <br />approve this permit that the following conditions be considered. <br />1. That the tent be flame retardant and that a certificate from <br />the provider or manufacturer be provided to staff to evidence <br />that the tent is in fact flame retardant. <br />2. That portable fire extinguisher be provided in the tent. <br />3. That access be maintained around the existing building at all <br />times. <br />4. That there be no alcoholic beverage., outside the main <br />building. <br />5. That an off duty police officer be hired for security and <br />crowd control during the event. <br />6. That the noise level of the music be controlled so that it <br />does not unreasonably disturb neighbors. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUEST: Motion to approve/deny the Stuart <br />Andersons Cattle Company request for a <br />permit for temporary structure at 2750 N. <br />Snelling with the aforementioned <br />conditions if so desired. <br />
