0
BUETOW AND ASSOCIATES, INC.
ARCHITECTS AND ENGINEERS
2345 RICE STREET SUITE 210
ST. PAUL. MINNESOTA 55113
TEL. 612/453-6701
Mueller -Gies Mortuary operates with a total of 49 existing car spaces on site. We have
an agreement with Jerry's grocery (across Dale Street to the west) for additional
overflow parking when required.
Our parking needs are the following for funerals and visitations: We can accommodate
parking for most funerals because all large funerals are held in a church. However,
when the opportunity arose to purchase the adjacent house to the south we purchased
it with the desire to increase our on -site parking capabilities for our visitations. This
would give us a net add of 22 car spaces for a total of 71 spaces. This increase would
satisfy most of our parking needs for visitations.
One of our concerns is the safety of people crossing Date street, particularly when a
visitation coincides with evening rush hour traffic. The additional on site parking would
decrease the need, 'if any, for people to park across the street.
We want this parking .lot to fit with our existing facility and grounds and enhance the
street environment. We are planning landscaping, berming, and screening which will
tie into our existing design as discussed with the City Planner.
