TWIN CITIES SOCIETY
FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS
WITH AUTISM, INC.
AND
OUTCOMES, INC.
July 31, 1987
Mr. Howard Dahlgren, City Planner
City of Roseville
2660 Civic Center Drive
Roseville, MN 55113
Dear Mr. Dahlgren,
Pursuant to our discussion of July 22nd I am enclosing the following
items in application for a minor variance for the six-foot fence at 388
0akcrest Avenue:
- a check in the amount of $25.00 along with the completed application
form;
- three copies of the site plan bearing the signatures or names of
neighbors required to approve the variance;
- a copy of the map which you furnished;
- statement of need; and
- 35mm. snapshots depicting the view of the fence from various angles.
,t
Unfortunately, we were unable to obtain the signatures of Mr. and Mrs.
Roy Peterson, at 2543 Western Avenue. They have no objection to the fence;
they are elderly people who are clearly biased in favor of warehousing
handicapped people in isolated institutions where they cannot blight community
neighborhoods. Since successful community integration for our three young
people in highly dependent upon community acceptance and support, we are
making every effort to cultivate a positive relationship with the Peterons.
We hope that, getting to know their new young neighbors will, in time, help r'
to assuage their many unsubstantiated fears and concerns.
I'd like to thank you again, for taking the time to meet with Bruce
Mitchell and myself regarding the variance request proceedings. I trust the
enclosed materials are in order, but please feel free to call me if you have
any questions.
253 E. Fourth Street St. Paul, MN 55101 (612) 228-9074
TCSAC is a chapter of the National Society for Children and Adults with Autism.
