He <br />suggested that the action approving the setback variance <br />should be rescinded, that there is no longer a need for <br />variance. Mr.. Yackel stated that he still wants the ten <br />foot variance. Courâ–ºuilman MerL(!n:t(_)tLo felt the variance <br />which had been approved should be rescinded at this time and <br />that a request should be made, if desired, when a structure <br />is planned. <br />Councilman Mertensotto asked Mrs. Bradt whether she plans to <br />do all of the repairs at one time or do some of the repairs <br />and let the rest wait. She responded that their plan is to <br />do only the heating and sewer and water extensions now. Mr. <br />Bradt stated that next spring a new roof would be put on and <br />other repairs would be done. Councilman Mertensotto <br />suggested that the Council acquire some type of guarantee <br />from the Bradt's that the updating will be done. <br />Mrs. Bradt stated that they want to update the house, and she <br />realized that she needs to give the City some kind of <br />guarantee. She was concerned, however, that 41 a substantial <br />amount of money is }rut into an escrow account she will not <br />have funds available to do the work. She stated that she, <br />has contracted for the sewer and water extensions at the pre- <br />sent time, and that a contractor has been hired to reroof <br />the home in the spring and another contractor to do siding <br />and insulation in the spring. <br />Councilman Mertensotto suggested that the Council require an <br />escrow deposit which could remain with the City if the <br />building permit is not completed within a specified time <br />frame. When asked what the anticipated completion time is, <br />Mr. Bradt stated that they anticipate completion in 26 <br />months with the exception of the garage. nrs. Bradt stated <br />that although the Code Enforcement Officer indicated new <br />siding should be required, she did not feel that new siding <br />was necessary. <br />After further discussion, Councilman Mertensotto moved to <br />amend the original Council action approving the division o <br />I.ot 1, Vandall.'s Outlots into a lot of 100 feet frontage, <br />and a lot of 100.95 feet of frontage, and rescinding the <br />ten foot sideyard setback variance. <br />Councilman iiartmann seconded the motion. <br />Ayes: 5 <br />Nays: 0 <br />COMi'I:1;Il1:NSTV13 LAND The City Planner, Howard Dahlgren, and several Planning <br />USE PLAN Commission members were present to discuss the proposed <br />Comprehensive Land Use Plan.
