<br />vnLA.GE OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />Continued meeting Friday May 4~ 1956 at 4 ».. <br />The Village met on the ~ove da'te as a continuation of its regular <br />meet.ing of Tuesdq, ~ 1, 1956 with the following members present. <br />Carlson,t Hammersten" Kl.tts, an.d McGee. Robert Gearin, Village Attorney <br />was tUso present. i:)alverdã - absent. <br /> <br />Mr. McCubrey and Mr. VanKrevelen of the State Highway Department sub- <br />mitted a preliminary plan of a portion of T.H. 280 proposed to cut through <br />Roseville. They asked for the Council's general approval of the plan. <br />Hammersten MOved, Carlson Seconded a resolution regarding the matter be <br />adopted. Roll Call Ayes (4)-N~es (0). <br /> <br />Mayor Kitts .tated that effective May 2, 1956 at 6:00 p.m. all violation <br />tickets be made out to Muhicipal Court. The Judge and Alternate were sworn <br />in May 4, 1956 at 2:00 p.9:. Also effective this date the Mayor has øppeinted <br />Chief of Police, Raymond Ganeau as Cciurt Officer. Lt. Johnston was appointed <br />Alternate. <br />Hannnersten Moved, Carlson Seconded approval of the appointments. Roll Call <br />Ayes (4)-N~es (0). <br /> <br />Representatives of the Bannister Engineering Co. and Attorney Popovich advised <br />the Council of the advantages and disadvantages of rejectiDg the recent bids <br />on the proposed Sanitary Sewer and readvertising. Bannister Engineering also <br />suggested if bids are readvertised that a rewording be worked out with Attorney <br />Robert Gearin. <br />Hammersten Moved, Carlson Seconded the present bids be rejected and the Village <br />readvertise for new bids to be opened on Jmle 1, 1956 at 11: 00 a.m. Also that <br />the advertisement shall state a completion date of September IF). 1956, (~d that <br />blÓ~ will be accepted whether they be tied or untied. Roll Call Ayes 4)-Nayes <br /> <br />Mr. O'Donnovich and Mr. Donald Rue, representatives of the North Star Little <br />Leag1&e appeared before the Council stating that a misunderstanding occured <br />in regard to the recent request of the Village by which the Little League did <br />not comply. Mr. Rue stated that they have the required nwnber of signatures <br />from adjacent owners for the fencee which they recently put around their ball <br />park. Mayor Kitts brought up the question of parking. <br />McGee Moved, Carlson Seconded the permit and license fees be waived and the <br />County be notified to place no ~arking signs on Hamline Ave. near the ball <br />park area. Roll Call Ayes (4)..Nayes CO). <br /> <br />Mr. Earl Worner from the audience asked the reasons for the rejectiDg and <br />readvertiaing of the Sanitary Sewer Bids--also what the tax affect will be <br />after such action was taken.
