Zexington .JJ01cling, C.o.
Suite 404
2829 UniversHy Avenue S.E.
Minneapolis, Minnesota 55414
(612) 331-4486
October 30, 1985
Planning Commission
City of Roseville
2660 Civic Center Drive
Roseville, Minnesota 55113
Gentlemen:
Reference is made to your notification that Minnesota Federal Savings and Loan
is making application for a variance in the City Code which would permit the
applicant to build drive-thru facilities at its location on Lexington Avenue
north of Larpenteur Avenue. The purpose of this letter is to object to the
granting of this variance.
Lexington Holding Company owns and operates the Shopping Center located immedi-
ately south of the property in question. The alleyway running east and west on
our property would run parallel to the driveway servicing the drive-thru facil-
ity as same intersects with Lexington Avenue. Tile traffic from the applicant
as well as from our Shopping Center driving east to exit on Lexington Avenue is
now quite heavy. With the addition of the drive-thru facility, the traffic will
be even heavier and will further complicate the flow of traffic out of our prop-
erty (and the applicant's) onto Lexington Avenue.
It is possible that the applicant could accomplish its purpose by building the
facility on the north side of its building. This would tend to minimize the
problems of entering Lexington Avenue from the west.
For the above reasons, we strenuously object to the proposal of Minnesota Fed—
eral Savings and Loan.
Very truly yours,
LEXINGTON HOLDING COMPANY
• 1
MEN/mbc M. E. Newman, Partner
